Setting up the Finish Line

Milk First help center · Updated July 2026

Quick answer: Plan tab: set your daily intake (slider) and your goal date (3/6/9/12 months or custom). The app computes ounces needed, ounces you have, and, from your recent pumping pace, the estimated Finish Line date: the day you could stop pumping. It updates with every logged pump and every used bag.

The math it runs for you

Days to goal × daily intake = total needed. Minus current stash = still to pump. Divided by your real daily surplus (recent pumped minus consumed) = days until done, shown as an actual calendar date. The formula is public in our guide; the app just refuses to let the inputs go stale.

Built to be kind

If your pace currently uses more than it adds, the app says so plainly and without judgment; combo feeding, goal adjustments, and fresh-daily plans are all wins, and the Plan tab's stats (streaks, 7-day average, formula savings) celebrate what you are doing, not what you are not.

Every guide on this page is two taps in the app. Download free and try it with your own stash.
